Sorting household recycling without reading the label
Recycling rules are mandatory in much of the rich world and nobody knows them. Object recognition can classify an item into the correct local category instantly, and doing it at the bin rather than at a sorting facility pushes the work back to where the decision is made.
The open question. Does anyone change what they throw away because an app told them to?
What would kill it
As an app it does not change behaviour, so it has to be a device or an integration, which brings a supply chain with it. The people who care enough to install it are also the people who already sort correctly.
Conor's.
